Additional Information
Cameron has helped Chris Bake set up Team Aqua where he was the tactician and manager of the team. They have had a very successful first year on 07 finishing on the podium in all events with 5 wins 2 seconds and a third. This was a fantastic effort in a hugely contested class with Russell Coutts the class creator and other America’s Cup Skippers like James Spithill, Dean Barker, Seb Col and Paul Cayard.
Cameron’s back ground has been mainly involved in the America’s Cup through his younger years when Peter Blake and Russell Coutts brought him into Team New Zealand as a young up and coming sailor. Russell then gave him the opportunity to have a match racing team with in Team New Zealand and Cameron throughout the next 2 campaigns was a regular tour skipper. The last few years he has been focusing his efforts on fleet racing raging from the competitive Etchells 22 class in the Miami Jaguar series where he won 3 events and was runner up to Judd Smith in the overall 2005-2006 Jaguar Cup. He has also been very active as Tactician in the Farr 40 class and recently with John Buchan’s TP52 Glory.
Now he has his sights set on the 2008 World Match Racing tour and will bring his successful RC 44 crew members with him to participate on the tour.
