Additional Information
Although a native of Poland, much of Jablonski’s sailing success has been representing Germany in ocean racing. He was a member of four German Admiral’s Cup teams, including the victorious 1993 team.
Jablonski, however, has enjoyed his best success in one of sailing’s least recognized classes, the DN Ice Boat. Jablonski is a three-time World Champion (1997, 2001, ’03) in the largest ice boat class in the world, counting more than 2,000 members. At 12 feet long and with a 60-square-foot sail, the ice boat cruises at two to four times the windspeed on its three runners.
The Swedish Match Tour is a great opportunity for Jablonski to develop his match-racing skills and become a tough competitor on the circuit. He has converted that opportunity to numerous victories, including the 2002 Match Racing World Championship.
