EVENT SUMMARY
Debuting as a new event in 2004, the Portugal Match Cup set a high standard of organizational efficiency, friendliness and thrilling competition.
Most importantly, the event provided an opportunity to debut the new Swedish Match 40, the Tour’s specially designed match-racer from Swedish designer Pelle Petterson.
After sailing in the Bay of Cascias from 2004-2006, the event will move venue to Troia for 2007 promising a new and challenging race course for the skippers to contend with.
As a sailing nation, the Portugal Match Cup is a popular event with racing close to shore for visiting spectators to enjoy. Shoreside, a massive tent hosts official functions for hospitality guests and sponsors.
