Event: Match Race Germany
Boat: Bavaria 35 Match
Designer: Bavaria Yachts, 2004
Match Race Germany, sailed on Lake Constance in southern Germany, introduces a new class of boat, the Bavaria 35 Match. The new boat replaces the Diamant 200, a 24-footer which had been used since 1997.
Answering a demand from its customers for faster, more efficient Racer/Cruisers, Bavaria Yachts created the Bavaria Match series. The first yacht of this series, the Bavaria 38 Match, debuted on the Mediterranean Sea last fall and found instant success racing in IMS- and IRC-handicapped events.
Bavaria Yachts, a sponsor of Match Race Germany, has entered a three-year agreement with the organizers that will see the Bavaria 35 Match used as the boat of choice through 2006.
