SCORING REGULATIONS
The World Match Racing Tour is a season long points championship for the ISAF Match Racing World Championship.

2008 ISAF Match Racing World Championship Scoring

1. There are 100 points allocated to the top 8 places at every World Tour event except for the final event ( 2008 Monsoon Cup) which offers 150 points to the top 8 places

2. Skippers will count their best 5 scores toward the Championship

3. In addition to the 5 scores the skipper shall count points earned at the Monsoon Cup final event.

4. The skipper with the highest score at the end of the season will be recognized as the ISAF Match Racing World Champion.

Championship points are awarded to the top eight skippers at each event as follows (with 150 points for the 2008 Monsoon Cup):

2nd Place 20 points
3rd Place 15 points
4th Place 12 points
5th Place 10 points
6th Place 8 points
7th Place 6 points
8th Place 4 points



5. The 150 Points for Monsoon Cup will be allocated as follows: 1st=38points, 2=30, 3=22, 4=18, 5=15, 6=12, 7=9, 8=6

6. In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the skipper with the greater number of first, second or third place scores will be declared the champion. (No discards will be counted.)

If the tie still exists, the two skippers will be ranked in order of their scores in the final event. If the tie remains it will be broken by using the finishes in the next-to-last event and so on until the tie is broken.

The World Tour will award the ISAF Match Racing World Championship Trophy supplied by Wedgwood to the winner at the 2008 Monsoon Cup in Malaysia

There is no overall prize purse for the 2008 season
