Six of the teams at the St. Moritz Match Race are down to their final opportunity to qualify for the Quarter Finals today at the latest stop on the World Match Racing Tour.

This group consists of the bottom three teams following each of Wednesday’s Group Round Robin competitions. The six will begin racing this morning in a Repechage Round, consisting of a full Round Robin. The top two of the six advance to the Quarter Finals. The four bottom teams earn places 9th to 12th at the St. Moritz Match Race.

Results are not carried forward from yesterday’s competition, so each competitor begins the day with a clean slate. But Evgeny Neugodnikov and Staffan Lindberg were each the top team in their group among those sailing in the Repechage, so the form guide is with them.

Thursday has dawned sunny with a light to moderate southerly wind on Lake St. Moritz. But the forecast is for a less stable breeze than yesterday with a chance of showers later in the day.

Principal Race Officer Christian Scherrer is hoping to begin Quarter Final racing later in the afternoon, if conditions allow.
