Langenargen, Germany – 27 May, 2012: Match Race Germany has hosted various famous faces over the past few days and yesterday it was the turn of German actress Eva Habermann, who headed out onto the water to experience first-hand the adrenaline of a race at the Alpari World Match Racing Tour.

Habermann is one of Germany’s most popular actresses and is a regular face on-screen, appearing on the biggest terrestrial channels ZDF and ARD in crime drama series as well as having worked in theatre. When she’s not working, she’s an avid fan of watersports including diving and surfing and has now added sailing, and in particular match racing, to that list.   

After getting on-board with local sailor Jan-Eike Andresen (GER) – MRV Match Race Team, for a hot seat in Qualifying, she said: “That was amazing. What an experience to actually stand with the team in the heat of a race. The teamwork was impressive, they all worked together, five men working as one.”

Unfortunately, Habermann could not bring the luck Andresen needed to earn a first win at his home regatta, despite leading throughout against Keith Swinton and his Black Swan Racing team, who were in imperious form throughout the day, striking late on to pip Andresen on the line.
